Group policy for home networks?

Is thier a solution for a small home network(2 Computers) Microsofts group policy looks way too much for me.

Group policy is usually used when you have several users who share several computers. If all you have are two computers that you want to have share a few folders and a printer, just setting them up as part of the same work group, then turning on sharing for the desired resources is the way to go.     I think that Group Policy would be overkill for two computers - rather like hiring a dump truck to move 2 pebbles to the end of the driveway. Like Carslosdl, I would be curious to hear what you are hoping to accomplish?
