We have a 9406-570 that has four partitions. This system was originally setup without an HMC. Each of the partitions had the Service Agent program enabled to call home for any hardware error.
Now they have installed an HMC to manage the 570. We have disabled the Service Agent, according to IBM's website. GO SERVICE and set the Enable parameter to *NO. It seems to have stopped calling home, but the HMC never logs any errors in the Manage Serviceable Events menu, and thus fails to call home through the HMC.
The call home setup on the HMC has been verified by creating a serviceable event, and checking the "Test Automatic Problem Reporting" box, and putting in a note that this is just a test of the call home funtcion.
The problem is there are hardware failures occuring, and no call home notification is taking place, and the HMC is not getting informed that an error is ever occuring.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
