Hello There. I'm trying to connect to the outside world but my eth port is connected to my power 7 box. Is there a way to 'share or split' this port ? Either thru some kind of swithch or software that somehow would create a lan console ? I'm trying to make what I have work withoout spending extra bucks for another eth card. Many thanx in advance.

Software/Hardware used:

I'm trying to connect to the outside world but my eth port is connected to my power 7 box. Trying "to connect" using what? Are you trying to use your HMC as a device to interact with internet sites? Tom

If that's what you are trying to do and your power 7 box can make external connections through another port, there is a possibility that I don't have equipment to test for now. I'm not certain that the full TCP/IP stack is used for the HMC -- it only needs enough to talk to the minimal stack that's available to the system even when it's down in restricted state. But it might be worth a try. Please verify what you need to accomplish. Also, what OS (or OSes) are you running on the power 7? Tom
