 Highlighted sorting column in Windows
With my custom colour scheme, it's hard to see the names of filesfolders in Windows. E.G. When you're in explorer, the column that the files are sorted by has a dark grey background. How can I remove this highlighting? I can't seem to find any way to change it. I don't want to change my scheme. I'm stumped, if anyone out there can help, I'd be really grateful. Thanks. B.

Answer Wiki:
Custom color scheme - problems with selected columns in explorer (Windows explorer not Internet explorer). Finish customizing your scheme. You have contrast problems because the selected (highlighted) background is the same color/shade as the text. When you go into 'Display Properties' on the 'Apearance' tab there are multiple selections and choices. Choose the selected block backgrond and change the color. This is why most people default to a theme where the selections have been made for you.
