Help needed urgently for security wipe

I am using a BlackBerry Tour 9630. The problem that I am facing I that I cannot open my settings option in my handset, When ever I try, it gives an error of "java.lang.error". So I figured that only way to solve this is by Security Wipe, but then again I cannot do that the normal way i.e security wipe and Password. So basically I cannot change any settings from my handset. Then I tried using the desktop software but I couldn't security wipe it completely (& I don't mean the data). Then I tried downgrading the version but after downloading 18% even it showed an error. Please help!! Also now my phone has lost its EDGE & is showing "1x". So I can't make a call or nothing. Help!
