Hi there,
We use a DS4300 but the principles are the same. Your 6800 comes with a central controller unit which must be cabled to the network. Look on the back of your 68000 for any Ethernet connections in addition to the fiber ones. Normally the initial setup is done via a laptop or PC connected via a serial console cable which should have come with the 6800. You'll have to assign IP addresses specific to your network to the controllers. While I can't give specifics or diagrams here, check these out for a start if you haven't already:

You'll have to download or open the .pdf file, but there are diagrams in there for cabling the disk storage trays to the controller, and cabling the controller to the network.
