Changing the headers and footers on 30,000 Word documents

I need to change the headers and footers on about 30,000 word documents. Obviously I don't want to do this manually and I managed to track down some software for $30 that will do the process for me. The trouble is that the default setting on all these documents has different first page selected. So when I run the software it only changes the first page and not the following pages! Is there any way I can change the header setting on all the docs so different first page is not selected?

Chewwyuk, you didn't mention what software you were using to do the mass edit - but the first thing I'd suggest is simply contacting the software maker and asking. If the product is designed for mass editing the format of Word documents, there may be a setting you're not aware of. Good luck.
