 help me with my backups!!!!
Backup & recovery
On one of our servers (xp)the backups logs have shown absolutely nothing. Blank. The backups utility also complains that there is no free media on the tape. We are using an onstream ADR backups device. Do I need to erase the tape? If so, how do I do this? Thanks in advance

Were using the windows built-in backup software. I really dont want to have to buy any software if at all possible.

Hi

When you insert a tape into your drive make sure that the tape is deallocated and that you move the media from import to free using the management console, or simply start up the backup GUI after inserting the tape, a dialog box will appear and you can choose to move media to free.
This will erase the label of the tape and you should be able to backup to it afterwards.
