So I have a problem. I have recently moved in with my brother and they shut off my computers' internet connection at night. It says I have a connection to the internet but I can't access anything. I did a troubleshoot and it says it couldn't connect to the primary DNS server. Is there anyway I can get around this?

There must be a reason they shut it down at night. It might be a security measure to make sure nobody hacks them overnight or any number of reasons. They may want to restrict bandwidth so they have more for streaming videos to their  television. They would be the best to ask why it is shut down. As for getting around it, that would be a security exploit and most people in this forum with standards won’t help with ways of breaking security.

Why they did they shut off internet connection at night? Was this connection running before you moved with your brother? Is there any special cause behind this issue? Is your brother can access the internet at night, meaning surfing the net? This might be a security related issue, better you can contact the authorized person(s) and ask for smooth internet connection.

Moreover don't take any illegal way to break this rule. You must obey the rules that they are maintaining. In the most cases people takes other way to fulfill their demand. So please don't take any bad steps to fulfill your demands. Better ask or contact them for your demands.

Most likely, they turn their router/modem off at night to save power. Security may be a secondary concern, if at all. If they are concerned about security, getting around it is very unwise.

Best is simply to ask if you can use the connection at night. They might not even think about it.
