Help! Does anyone know if this is true?
Hi. The City of Atlanta is switching over to Oracle 10i. The city intends to move from 6 pay schedules to 1 pay schedule. There are 350 employees out of 9000 who would like to remain on their current pay schedule. The City claims in order to add this to the Oracle that is being installed it woudl cost $1.5 million per month for 6-9 months. I am a total ludite and know nothing about computers but this does not sound right...how in the world could it cost that much. Can anyone provide an idea of what the cost woudl be, and why? thanks in advance.
