If you are running windows XP service pack 2, and you had Norton on the machine the Norton WMI update allows the Windows Security Center to recognize that the machine is protected by Norton and what version it is, Nortons website www.symantec.com should have removal instructions, the first place i would check would be under add/remove programs in the control panel
