 GroupWise 6.5 Client install error
I keep getting an error telling me my views are installed incorrectly when I try to open the groupwise client after installation. I have not been able to find any help with this yet. If someone knows anything I would greatly appreciate some help. I am testing this new software and it has been very problematic so far.

Answer Wiki:
GroupWise is an excellent system with the usual Novell quirks. Top of that list is the egocentric file location in setup. Default setup (Which you had better be using for evaluation) creates a folder "Novell" in 'Program Files' on the C: (boot/system) drive. Under 'Novell' it creates a folder "Groupwise" which it populates with the program files. In addition it creates three or more folders under 'Groupwise' labeled 'xxx?' for off-line mailbox (temp storage when it cannot connect to the server), "ofYYYarc' for your archive of e-mails, "OFVIEWS" the point of this discussion, and PPFORMS for printing e-mail and attachemtns. OFVIEWSwinzzz... all the .vew files in this folder are the default displays for the various e-mails, calendar, tasks, appointments created, recieved, stored in "GW". Remember Groupwise is a huge database and all of the .msg files are stored as data records that are displayed using a view. The 'quirk' comes from the platform you are using. GW saves your 'VIEW' as customized in C;documents & settingsuser-youlocal settingstemp. This and the spell check dictionaries '.uwl' are created and placed by registry entries created by the setup. Hence the requirement for accepting default locations until you create a custom 'setup' file. Depending on what platform - Win2k, XP, Client32, Linux, (all supported) the default view when you try to open a message can be someplace different. A quick check of the registry confirmed my memory about the 'spell dictionaries' but I did not see views (look in HKey local machine for .vew) I like GroupWise hope this helps, Good Luck.
