We have a small business domain setup, with client machines running WinXP SP3 tied in through active directory to Server 2003. All of the client machines have the same Group Policy from the domain, and part of that policy is folder redirection of Application Data, My Documents, and Desktop. It was working just fine until about two weeks ago when it started to fail for one user.
This one user suddenly had all of their documents and files hosted locally on their machine - the Documents and Settings folders reinstated themselves. However, the files are still apparently syncing with the server. We have an unused machine, so as a test I logged into it as this user (we have Roaming Profiles as well, in case that matters). The user hadn't logged into this machine before, so a fresh profile was constructed. Again, everything was built locally (c:Documents and Settings%username%Desktop, etc.) but all of the files were up to date as of five minutes before I logged in. The problem had been there for about four days by that point. I double-checked GP with GPResult, and the correct Group Policy is in place. No other user is having this issue.
I'm completely at a loss, and have no idea what could cause this, and even less what the solution might be.
If anyone can help, I'd really appreciate it.
