Hi Everyone, Our domain (Win2003) has about 44k user accounts and we have this Group Policy which is in the main trunk of our domain structure.

Currently it is enforced to (all Domain Users) but i would like to exclude a specific group. Should I just add the group in the security filter and set the permissions to deny.

Will this make this group skip this policy?

Please advise any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, RT

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

That is going to be the easiest and quickest way to do this. Processing the group deny will slow down application slightly but it shouldn’t be too much of an issue for oene GPO and one group

Hi Richs, Thanks for your reply. I ran some test and yes Denying the group from reading the GPO and also selecting a deny on the "Apply this GPO" option gets the group filtered out. Now if the GP to be applied on the computer section only will the users workstations see it filtered? Please advise,

If you are applying the GPO only to computers then put the users computers into a group and deny that group the right to apply the GPO. In other words if you are applying a user GPO put the users in a group or if its a computer GPO put the computers in the group. In either case deny the group the right to apply the GPO
