First disclose what OS are you using now ! What environment like shared/ individual that will also require for fruitful reply. Only un install/ re install is not a solution while OS related or malware issues may cause.

1st uninstall add -ons/ extensions, if you have already in browser specially any download manager add-on must un install now. May be problem of chrome with some wind internal files. Please run sfc/scannow from command line. Chrome uses more memory than FF/ IE. U can try the same with FF or IE and see what will be happened. Also virus checking is an important part to solve this issue.

Is this shutdown only occurring with Chrome? Sounds similar to an issue I had. Had to uninstall it and the download again. It may also be some other issue. Do you run virus scans regularly ?

I would try disabling all add-ons as first measure.  if that doesn't solve it, I would try uninstalling all add-ons, and only if that doesn't solve it, I would try reinstalling chrome.

I would also check the event logs.  There is probably something there that can shed a light on the issue.

    Hi

You can resolve this issue by following simple steps:

As I get stuck in same problem I'm using Win7... and due to some reason my chrome compatibility changed to Win XP and when  I have changed it to Win 7 it starts working fine.

    Steps:

Right Click on Chrome--> properties--> Click on Compatibility Tab>>there chooses your OS version from the drop down list.

I hope this process helps you.
