Nobby66, I take your point anout endless meetings, politics & administration – unfortunately I already have them locally and corporately so there won’t be too much change there! Your point about pure “techies” is also valid but I’d say that my role is not techie-based: my staff need to be tech’s, my job (as it is) is to define strategy, manage budgets & manage the ICT service to ensure that we are delivering what the company needs / wants (including anticipating future requirements) at the right time and in a cost-effective manner
