Our department is working on a project that has a ton of database writes (basically a ton of inserts and reads). This project will also be doing over a million database transactions per hour. But we're not sure what to go with here: InnoDB or MyISAM? Which was should we go here? Thanks!

How many tables? What are their definitions and expected volumes of each? What is the hardware environment? What does the staff know about either choice or about any similar setup?
