Giving Read only access to a Share mailbox in AD
We are running exchange 2003 and I am want to give a user read only access to the mailbox. Is there any other way of doing it other then to log into the mailbox and giving it via the delegats function of the mailbox. In AD you get the Exhange tab form where you can grant users access to the mailbox but i believe that it is full access and not just read-only access. Please assist

Answer Wiki:
For Exchange 2003 open the properties of the mailbox in AD. Go to the Exhange Advanced tab and then click the mailbox rights button. You can grant read-only permissions there. It is not just full access, no.

To the answer:

No is not, you have no idea.
Unless you have a PATCHED 2003 AD where you have the “send as” permission you CANT give read access by AD. You have to check full mailbox access to grant access to the mailbox.
Follow those steps and pray you have no conflicting permissions
