getting emails from exchange server via outlook via IMAP protocol……

Hi, I have an exchange server that works with a SMTP connector all the time I set microsoft Outlook for clients to see their emails from exchange server,how can I set outlook to use IMAP protocol from my exchange!! How can I change my Exchange server that can accept IMAP client? ****** My Exchange server is Enterprice 2003 and the OS of server is Windows server 2003 R2 and the OS of clients is Winxp pro sp2. ******** Thank you. ------ Regards Mahnaz

Hi,

All you need to do is to set the MS Exchange IMAP service to automatic from disabled in the Servvice snap-in and then start the service. By default IMAP and POP3 is disabled with installation.

    Also check that IMAP protocol is enabled in ESM and on the user account (if somebody changed the defaults). In outlook configure a new email account pointing to an IMAP server instead of POP3. That's it.
