Generic host process for WIN 32 processes – has to close down -
Pop up box keeps recurring every 45 minutes(approx),shutting down mobile broadband connection to "3" network. Found way around by switch off and reboot, but that severely disrupts online working. Suspect overactivity of processor leading to moderate overheating. Using XP Pro SP2 on Thinkpad T40 with PC Tools Int/Sec 2009 and PC Tools Registry Mechanic. Scans with both tools show as "Virus-Free"/"NoProblems". Websites with lots of content seem to trigger it, E-bay being a constant example.

Answer Wiki:
I'm not sure I would fully trust the results of the virus scan. I would run another scan using Sophos, McAfee or other online scanning tools - if the machine can stay online that long. Did this happen just recently? Could you go to a previous restore point? I would also recommend applying all latest patches/fixes from Microsoft for the OS.

If you suspect that it is a heating problem, open the case and make sure that all the fans are spinning. You could also open the case, set it in front of an air conditioner or large fan, and see if the problem persists. If you think it is a failing network card, a new PCI card can usually be easily found for less that $20.00.
Good Luck!
