Generate Invoice Numbers in Excel
Hi,
I would like to generate invoice numbers which i want automated. The invoice format is in excel and i want to insert a text box which would contain the generated invoice number and the text box linked to a table in access with a field calld invoice number.I do not know how to do this and also what code to write to link this text box to excel. If i open a new file it automatically should give me the next invoice number to use. In access table i dont need to store any other detail apart form the invoice number, which would be the primary key. Please am in desperate need of help. Thanks in advance.

It seems to me that since the invoice number is already in Access, that you would, or at least should in my opinion, use Access to generate your invoices. The sample Northwind.mdb has an invoice in it as well as orders etc.
Having developed a number of applications in Access, I think this would be your best solution. I use Excel only for spreadsheet type tasks/analysis. It wasn't intended to be an invoice generator, so although you might be able to get it to work, I think Access is your best bet.
