 GAMBAS – as front-end of open dbase?

hi..greetings to all i am an IT student and i am here to seek help. I am using UNIX OS. edubuntu v9 to be specific. and we ar eought to make a databe having gambas(if your familira wiht it) as front and dbase as the physical storage..how is this possible. last year we created a mini-database using MS Access and it was easy..[we realized it after the hard days of work]...and now a new challenge is here.. can anyone help or teach me how to make things go like front-end and back..i dont know anything about this stuff..and i am new to gambas as well.. i am thinking of redisigning the billing system that we developed last year. to amke it look like a real database. we know the inputs and the expected outputs the p0roblem is the fornt-end thing... is anybody here familiar with gambas environment? can you teach us? i mean us beacause we are two worknig on this. it is a group work.. there are but bits of information available on the internet regarding the use of gambas....please do help us... its urgent.,,and we might as well include you in the acknowledgment coloumn of our paper..thanks.....

As response, Use the gambas-user mailing list, We will be happy to help you, and lead you throuth the numerous help pages. If i remember well for DBase databases you can use the firebird component. …because that is what our teacher wanted us to use…dbase and it really making us nuts…we do not know how to…ok say our teacher would change her mind and make us use sqlite3..then how can we? do you know how to? oh please help us….our future lies in here….
