I have read on numerous web sites that in order to FTP from the ISeries to a PC, that PC must have a FTP server running on it. Is that correct or is there a way around this?

No, an ftp server is required. Filezilla is a nice open source FTP server/client.

An alternative might be using QNTC to send files from iSeries to a PC.

Hi, Another alternative is to run your FTP from the PC instead of from the i. Regards, Martin Gilbert.

You can use RUNRMTCMD to initiate the FTP request on the PC. In an interactive session, you could use STRPCCMD. Tom
