I am trying to FTP a friend in Chicago. He can FTP me but I can not reach his computer, but his friends can reach his computer. I am thinking the problem lies with my system.
I am running XP Professional. In the Internet Properties Advanced tab, I have checked among many things, Enable Folder View for FTP sites, and I have unchecked and rechecked the Passive FTP box.
I keep getting the same error when attempting to contact: FTP Folder Error an error occurred opening that folder on the FTP server. Make sure you have permission to access that folder.
Details: A connection with the server could not be established. And then under that error message, is the flashlight searching for files, and folders.

I’m not sure what this has to do with “AS/400″, but there is at least one item that’s really missing from the question — what ftp client is being used? Windows http://ftp.exe from a command line? Internet Explorer ftp:? FileZilla? Other?
