ftp gdg from mainframe to ftp server
I am having trouble picking up the latest GDG from the mainframe a placing it on the ftp server. The ftp commands do not seem to interpret (0) as the latest gdg. If I put in the G000V00 number then the file transfers fine. Please help.

Answer Wiki:
Once FTP became a major player in our shop during the late 1990s I developed a desktop application at the PC level, using Fujitsu COBOL for Windows. Using Active/X FTP from Mabry Software - don't think they are around anymore - I queried the catalog for the GDG base. My program would construct the commands to retrieve the latest generation via its qualified DSN. Almost all of my data transfers to/from the mainframe were accomplished in this way.
