 FTP from AS400 to PC
Is anyone aware of anything with doing ftp from the 400 that would cause a slow down in the ftp server on the remote system ? I am closing my ftp session with the appropriate close/quit commands and everything seems to complete normally. I have a scheduler that does this ftp session every minute and during the course of the day the server to which I'm connecting bogs down and finally just "hangs". Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Software/Hardware used:
AS400 OS - V6R1

Answer Wiki:
How large is the file being sent? Is it possible that the previous FTP command is still running when a new instance is being started? A little more info on the file and i-Series would help to find a solution. I too am curious as to what type of file would need to be sent that frequently.

Any chance you can tell us something about the “remote system”? Most particularly, what OS is it running, including version/release?

I wouldn’t be surprised for some cases given the “every minute”(!) scheduling. (I’d be interested in why that’s being done.)

…ftp from the 400…

The question is tagged with i6.1, but the wording somewhat implies that the i is being used as the client rather than as the server.

Clarification on what system platforms are involved on all sides and on which platform is client and which is server is necessary.
