 iSeries FTP error
FTP, iSeries FTP, V5R4
hi folks, i'm trying to ftp from one iseries to another but it gives me the error: Message ID . . . . . . : TCP10B0 Severity:. . . . . . . : 10 Message . . . . : Cannot connect to host BSOL1 at address 10.5.1.1. Try again later. can anyone help please tanx

Is that the correct IP address? Have you done STRTCPSVR *FTP on both machines?

Seems to be a network problem or in the target AS400 is not running a ftp server.

i think the problem is that the client isn’t runnig ftp server, but they keep saying they are

Walk over and look at that system to see if it’s running a FTP server. Well, it won’t necessarily be in walking distance, but the [ 10.5.1.1 ] IP address is non-routable, so it should be pretty close.

Can you TELNET to the other machine.
If so, you can do the checking right from your desk.
