The downside of the product is that in the current 2.8 version troubleshooting is hard. They promised they will fix that in 3.0 aner sagi CISSP

i had used fortigate-60 firewall from fortinet in my previous organisation with about 70 nodes (end user desktops) and about 5-6 servers, we have no issues (intially couple of them..but sorted out after support)…its a reliable box and very compact…

We use the Fortinet 80 here. It works well for what it’s designed for. My only question with getting one right now is lawsuit against them claiming infringements on software. I would do a little research first.

I have 2 customers with Fortigate 60s. Their support is good and they have been reliable but I have a problem with their support contracts. They were about $300 a year to have all the features enabled but when we went to update them they decided to make all the features seperate and they are more than triple the cost. Neither one of my customers would have bought them knowing that.
