Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Make sure you have chosen to delete the mailbox, that will set it to disconnected on Exchange with a 30 wait until it is purged.

Did you disable the A account or the exchange account? Does the alias still exist? Give as many details as you comfortably can.

Hello, You might have disabled a different account or the employee might have at least two different accounts... Belive me, I manage several Exchanges for more than 6 years now and never had experienced the symptom you're talking about... I also use (when necessary) the "Exchange remote wipe" with no issues. I can confirm that this is happening. We just disabled an account yesterday at 4:45. The fired employee was sending email with her iPhone last night. I am currently testing this with my own account. We disabled my account in AD. I was still able to send and receive email. I can still send and receive with a changed password in AD but I have not touched my phone.

deleting the mailbox is not always an option for compliance issues. Resetting IIS will reset the cache and the active sync device will no longer be able to send/receive emails. Removing the Mobile Device from Exchange does not seem to be a big help though...
