As part of a rebranding exercise I need to create a program to find/replace variable length text within a file. I know I can do this easily enough via INSPECT/REPLACE (or maybe QCLSCAN in a CL) but has anybody got ideas about how to reformat afterwards (data in the file is stored typically in multiple lines each PIC X(80))? I'm trying not to reinvent the wheel ..... Thanks in advance,

...has anybody got ideas about how to reformat afterwards... I'm not clear on what that means. Why would anything need to be reformatted? Can you show a sample that illustrates the problem? Tom
