Hello!
I am the promotions manager for a ticketing company (similar to Ticketmaster). We input our event information via a .NET database and that information is then displayed on our Web site. Sorry, I don't work on the tech side at all, so I don't have more details...
This is what we are trying to do. Each week we send out HTML newsletters that feature some of our upcoming events. This is a tedious cut and paste process. I use our search function on the Web site to find events, copyi the URL to the event page, and then figure out what events are next/selling best in each city, resizing the corresponding event image, etc.
We want this to be an automated process. So, the interface would have a menu where we could, for example, generate a newsletter featuring "Atlanta's next 10 events" and it would automatically pull from our database the necessary details and put them in the right place-- the name of the show, a link to that page, the image for that event in the right size...
I have no idea where to begin to look for someone who could analyze our system and figure out a way to do this. Any ideas? We also have an RSS feed that they could pull the details from in that is easier....
