When you have the menu displayed enter “showmenu” on the command line and it will show the procedure that runs each option on the menu.
can please give some steps for to achieve this.
There are at least five different types of menus that you might be asking about. You’ll have to tell us what kind of menu it is before we can give guesses about how you might look at options behind the menu.
The main menu types on an AS/400 are *DSPF, *PGM and *UIM. Menus specifically for a S/36 environment are usually created with either SDA or with the BLDMENU procedure.
A SDA created menu would usually be a *DSPF menu type, but any of the other types are possible. Both the SDA and BLDMENU menus will have a related message file that contains option commands behind the menu.
In addition, a ‘menu’ function could be created by programming with the DSM APIs or similar methods. Anything but SDA or BLDMENU menus will require that you locate the original source in order to determine what each menu option does.
