MS Query
When I create a table in excel with data from an external data source using MS query, the resultant excel table doesn't allow me to filter or sort the data (the menu options are greyed out) If I add columns with formulae to the right of my data table, it seems to view the two ranges separately and will only filter the extra columns to the right but not the first lot on the left.

Software/Hardware used:
XP, office 2007

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Are you forgetting the power of the filter and sort in MS query?

Write the query to filter and sort, then pass the result to excel.

That's an option, but the query would need to be modified if a different filter needs to be applied or a different sorting is needed.
