I've created a Word document, added a background color and a fill effect. When looking at print preview, the fill effect is only once in the center of the page but when it prints they are all over the page.

Software/Hardware used:
Microsoft Office Word 2007

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

When I use Fill Effects and select a picture I can get it to display in Print Preview but when I print it out I get lots of small versions of the picture in the background, not one as in the view.

What is your problem? What do you want to fix? Are you simply wanting the 'Print preview' to work correctly? -- Tom

This could indicate that you need an update to word or your printer driver.    It could also indicate that you aren't using the correct printer driver for the actual printer you are using.

If you are filling with an image you need to make sure it is not set to be tiled. Otherwise it repeats till the area is filled with the image.

When a document goes for printing/switch to print preview, fields are updated. It appears that there are some fields in document that are causing the layout to change. If you use fields in your document, it is very possible that the fields could be throwing off the pagination of printed document. In this case, you can open printer options and check that update fields check box is ticked in print tab dialog box.
