 File Level Identifiers
If we save and restore SQL generated files which were created under an old OS/400 system software will the Format Level Identifier be changed and how does this affect the file?

No, the Format Level identifier will be the same as it was. Phil That depends 1) do any of the files saved have date/time/timestamp fields on them 2) on how old and 3) what PTF level you were on when the files were saved. There was a bug in the generation of format level identifiers a few versions back (V5R1?) where the format identifier was incorrect. If the PTF or latest version was installed since then, the restore will reset the format level ID.
