If we save and restore SQL generated files which were created under an old OS/400 system software will the Format Level Identifier be changed and how does this affect the file?

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

No, the Format Level identifier will be the same as it was.

Phil

That depends 1) do any of the files saved have date/time/timestamp fields on them 2) on how old and 3) what PTF level you were on when the files were saved. There was a bug in the generation of format level identifiers a few versions back (V5R1?) where the format identifier was incorrect. If the PTF or latest version was installed since then, the restore will reset the format level ID.
