 Fields indexing
Topic: SQL

Question:
My question is regarding fields indexing.
My table named' K5Details' contains about 200,000 records and the
response time to access this table is quite slow. What is the best way
to index this table in order to get better response time

To this table, I've created few indexes. The indexes are :

IndexName Fieldname Position
-----------------------------------------
K5BLNOLSTS BLNO 1
K5BLNOLSTS LIFESTATUS 2

K5DBLNO BLNO 1

K5DPID PID 1

K5DPIDSMARK PID 1
K5DPIDSMARK SMK_MARK 2

K5FIDBLSTS BLNO 1
K5FIDBLSTS FID 2
K5FIDBLSTS LIFESTATUS 3

K5DFID FID 1

K5LSTSFID LIFESTATUS 1
K5LSTSFID FID 2

Please advice

Answer Wiki:
Hi,

The table indexing comes to what columns require index. The where clause in DML statement is the first indicator what column or columns need to be indexed. If you have repeated the same set of columns then you might want to use concatenated index up to 5 columns.
