iSeries Access for Windows was recently installed on my PC. Would it be possible to customize the F8 key whereby when the F8 key is held down, it goes through the records continuously?!

Software/Hardware used:
Workstation Program Version 6.0 for Windows

That is not possible. Can you give us more information on exactly what you are trying to accomplish? We may be able to suggest a different method.

"goes thru the records" what records? when does it stop? If you are looking up data in a subfile, try adding a index key and setll to set a starting view point. Provide a little more inf.

I'm not aware of any way to enable character repetition for F-keys. . They can be "keyboard buffered" by repeatedly pressing the keys faster than they are processed, but holding them down doesn't invoke repetition like non-AID keys. . It just doesn't seem to register the same way. That's probably a standard safety feature. . Tom

I believe before iSeries Access was installed for our AS/400, we were using MochaSoft. I am not sure if the two are different but with MochaSoft, pressing and holding the F8 key will make one go through the database entries very quickly, as in 5 records in 1 second.

Yes, the MochaSoft emulator will do it. It's risky, though, because it allows a large number of F-keys to be queued with no way to know how many will execute... not just F8. . Tom
