External CD writer
I have recently purchased a second hand memorex CD writer and although it looks in fine order and will play discs I cannot get it to copy/write/or burn discs. It is connected to my PC with a USB - Do I need a driver? or something. If so how do I go about this. Can anyone help please?

Answer Wiki:
Go out to the manufacturer's web site and you should be able to find the software you need. May be you need a driver also check the USB cable. *********************************** This site Driver Guide probably has the driver you need. I've found many odd and old drivers here. You do have to register, but there is a free registration for occasional users. The site might seem a bit over whelming, but chances are you will find the driver you need there. Good Luck! -Flame ============== If your computer system is running a Windows XP or Windows Vista Operating System, there might be a driver problem with your external CD writer. You mentioned that it is a second hand external CD writer, make sure that the writer feature of the device is still working.
