Hi, I have used two EXFMT Statements successively in my RPG Program as shown below EXFMT FOR1 EXFMT FOR2. FOR1 is SFLCTL and FOR2 is a record to be overlayed in FOR1 at the bottom. Now I want my program to display FOR2 immdediately after FOR1. But I could realise that only whent the enter key is pressed in the screen for FOR1, then only my FOR2 screen is getting displayed. Can you please help me out to display FOR2 immediately after FOR1, without pressing the Enter key in the screen for FOR1.

Hi,

You need to use WRITE instead of EXFMT for one of the record formats.

Martin Gilbert.

Yes - typically you would write it like this WRITE FOR2 EXFMT FOR1 FOR1 needs the overlay command and it cannot write anything in the area of the screen used by FOR2. We write the footer/header other stuff first, then Write-Read (EXFMT) the subfile control .
