This morning I did a normal reboot of my server and things got a little crazy. After an extended startup period my server finally allowed me to login and to my horror there were no services. After some tinkering I finally got the services to show up. In fact everything is running exactly as it was except for my Exchange services. The Microsoft Exchange System Attendant won't start which is keeping the Information Store from starting. In the event log I get these two errors:
Event Type: Error Event Source: MSExchangeSA Event Category: General Event ID: 1005 Date: 4/14/2010 Time: 7:37:38 PM User: N/A Computer: TPADC1 Description: Unexpected error The system could not find the environment option that was entered. Facility: Win32 ID no: c00700cb Microsoft Exchange System Attendant occurred.
Event Type: Error Event Source: MSExchangeSA Event Category: General Event ID: 2059 Date: 4/14/2010 Time: 7:37:38 PM User: N/A Computer: TPADC1 Description: The DsProxy dll is required but cannot be loaded, error 'c00700cb'.
I am running Windows Server 2003 Standard with SP3, and Microsoft Exchange server 2003. I have searched multiple message boards and tried numerous solutions with no luck. I have checked my DNS settings, made sure my Exchange Server is in the Exchange Domain Servers group, made sure the services are set to run under the correct logon, etc. Strange thing - I re-ran ForestPrep and DomainPrep but when I tried to install Exchange 2003 SP2 I got an Access Denied error, even though I'm using the Admin account. I have been at this for hours with no progress at all. Any help/advice I can get would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
