Exchange 2007, using Outlook 2007 Outlook is setup in Exchange server cached mode. I get the following error when trying to send an e-mail with an attachment larger than 10 MB (from any account): error (0x80040610) : 'The message being sent exceeds the message size established for this user.' The e-mail just sits in the outbox.

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

If you are not the Exchange Admin, ask the Exchange Admin to check the global send size limits and tell you what that limit is. Sounds like your email exceeds that size limit. Try zipping the file to get it smaller and see if it will send then.

By default the Size limit is 10Megs it can be easily changed through the management shell.

    Hi,

You might want to try to force these changes through by restarting the Microsoft Exchange Transport Service. Check the article Modify Exchange 2003 Global Message Size Limits in Exchange 2007 RTM

That is controlled by the admin. Be thankful, our limit is 5meg. Anything larger we put on the cloud for people to pickup. That cuts down or our bandwidth use for mass mailings to corporate locations.
