Q:
Exchange Server 2003 installation
Recently, i change the Server OS version from Small Business Server 2003 to MS Server 2003 Standard Edition because of the issues i was having with the exchange server.

Now i want to reinstall exchange server 2003 that came with the Small Business Server 2003 on the new Standard Edition but it doesn't seem to accept the CD KEY on the exchange server for installation.

Please what do you suggest i do, i have tried to call microsoft in my country, Nigeria, but the listed numbers are never reachable, emails bounces back everytime i retry.

What do i do please?

Software/Hardware used:

You will not be able to use the Exchange that came with your Small Business Server. The SBS and Exchange are intergrated as one element and are not designed to be used seperately.

What problems did you have with SBS and Exchange that you think would be solved by trying to seperate them and using a totally different 2003 Server edition?

They were working perfectly normal.
SBS Server seems to be superb at the time, though that was my first time using SBS Server. I’d always loved the standard edition and enterprise for it’s simplicity.
All of a sudden, i came to the office one morning, turned on the server normally, Everything seems fine till users on the network started calling in that they can’t recieve mails anymore, some can’t even connect to the internet.
SMTP connector configuration seems okay firewall was diabled on the server, the only one i was using was the one on the Linksys Router.
With the pressure on me, and my boss has started singing his usual song about 1person stalling the operations of the whole company.
I had to separate them
Server on its own. .Server 2003, exchange will come in soon as i get it
For now they all check mails through the webmail.
