Q:
Exchange client is sending excessive outbound email
Hello everyone,

For the past 2 days we have noticed in our Exchange Log Analyzer that a particular email address has been sending out in excess of 20,000 messages a day. When we checked the Antivirus program on the client machine it showed 35 viruses in quarantine, removing them gave us access denied. To solve this issue we will clean it up and it wont spam. But how do we prevent this type of thing from happening in the future. Can we limit the amount of emails a sender can send at on time or in one day? What options do we have on the server side of this. Are there any tools that notify us when this happens? Alright hey guys thanks for your support ahead of time.

You should research third party Exchange Monitoring software. There are many out there. We use Quest Spotlight on Exchange. Otherwise your desktop security team should have monitoring in place to see this as well.

Does your AV have an option to block port 25?

How about a rule in Windows Firewall to block port 25?
