First let me explain what my need is and how I am thinking
of going about it solving it. If you could help answer my question or even
provide a better solution I would be very grateful.
I have events/bills that are emailed to me that do not have
a recurring due date and I am not the only one that looks at this info. My
thought was to have the events/bills sent to an email address and exchange would
then create a calendar event. Then everyone that has the need to review the
email will have rights to the calendar. I want the email to trigger a calendar
event entry for the day it arrives to bring the event to everyone’s attention. I
do not want to create an event for the due date in the email.
My first thought was to create a public folder that is email
enabled so I don’t have to maintain a user account just for the email address. I
know that it’s recommended not to use public folders and use share point. I
think this should be a simple task that I do not want to use another server for
but rather use public folders. Once the email hits the public folder then a
calendar event would be created in the shared calendar.
I have the public folder created and it is getting emails
but I am not able to figure out if I can cause the calendar event to be
created. I see other options based on the arrival of the email in public folder
but not create a calendar event.
If anyone could help me or give me another idea on how to
trigger the creation of the calendar event I would be very grateful. Thanks in
advance for any feedback.
