Exchange and setting up SMTP to send recieve messages (from outside)
Hi all - I thought I had this all set up and working - but I was wrong - so now I'm trying to go back and check all my steps and found that I can't find what I did (it's been a year so far, what can I say). So I would like to ask the wisdom out there if anybody has any checklists, websites or general advice for setting this up. I am very concerned about being used as a relay - so I haven't made any further changes. I have been reading lots of Microsoft tech notes on getting this set up and was wondering if anybody had any other advice before I dive into this (I have to have it working by 7/4/2007). I know we want authenication turned on and that's the only thing I think I'm missing - but I'm just a bit paranoid and really don't want to end up on a blacklist because I forgot something. So we are running Server 2003, Exchange 2003 sp1. Let me know if I forgot something or if this doesn't make any sense what so ever. thanks! Lirria

Thanks for the link – now I really worried – it came back and said my transaction time is not good and my server could be an open relay.
