Hi,
I am migrating Exchange 5.5 to 2K. I am following the path ADMT>ADC>Migration Wizard.
I setup a new 2K Domain. I created two way trusts between the NT and 2K domains. Installed the ADC and configured the two way connection agreement, and installed Exchange 2K. All seems well but being able to sendreceive mail outside the organization. DNS and AD seem to be setup and working on the new 2K domain. DNS setting on the 2K server is pointing to itself with forwarders to the ISP DNS servers.
Email can be sent between the Exchange 5.5 and 2K. Email can be sent from the 5.5 to the outside as well as received from the outside. The 5.5 and 2K should share the same SMTP domain. All email addresses on both machines are @xyz.com
What settings do I need to change to get email from the outside routed between the two machines?
Can someone please help explain the routing between the 5.5 and 2K boxes. Should all email come in to the 5.5 box and if no address exist get routed to the 2K box or the other way around? What do I need to setup on the 5.5 andor 2K machine to get this to happen? An MX record exist for the 5.5 box but not for the 2K box. Is this why only local email works on the 2K box?
Thanks,
David V
