Exchange 5.5 OWA issue

I have installation errors occuring when trying to connect OWA server. Current environment: Win2k w/SP4. Installed OWA 5.5 on same network as Exchange server..same domain and network scheme. Can browse and ping each. When connecting to URL errors out Microsoft VBScript runtime error. The funny part is I already have another OWA server running on the same network with the exact same settings. All articles I read state to install SP4 again on the exchange box. Is that necessary, can I run multiple OWA servers...any suggestions?

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Try stopping the other OWA service then try with this one. I believe two OWA’s runningat same time is ok. If OWA is working on another system, then Exchange isn’t the culprit ,the new OWA is, reapplying SP4 + number of hotfix related to OWA security is what I’d do since sometimes killbits are set after a security release to not use specific dated componets. Run the MSBA on the new OWS, see if it detects anything needing updates.

yes you can have multiple owa servers. you can have as many as you want to. Not sure what the exact error is you are getting. a little more info would be helpful.

Hello, Questions... I'm assuming your running two Exchange servers for load balancing...i.e. different IS's on each box supporting unique mailboxes? If your config is for redundancy you may be having a conflict. Try shutting down OWA on the working box and see what happens. Where are your servers placed..on the trusted side of the network or in a DMZ? If on the trusted side, check that you have opened the proper ports on your firewall for OWA server 2. Good Luck
