Comments on: Exchange 2007 TSM GUI

I tried adding the “tsmoptfile=dsm.opt.” to the shortcut, still no go. As stated before the instructions i found say I can change the shortcut to the GUI to include /excserver=exchangeservername for the GUI to open on a clustered server by adding it to target field, but the target field is grayed out and it doesn’t work if I create a new shortcut either with that addition. For now I just open the GUI using the command line instead. At least that works. I just wish I could get the GUI icon to work. Oh well. Thanks anyway.

oops my mistake. try “C:Program FilesTivoliTSMTDPExchangetdpexc.exe” /tsmoptfile=dsm.opt.
If you open dsm.opt in notepad, there should be a line with the name of the exchange server. Thats what makes the link between exchange and TSM

I don’t understand what dsmarch.opt is. I see no such file in my tdp directory. I tried adding this and it did not work either.

try pointing it to your OPT file with this line
“C:Program FilesTivoliTSMTDPExchangetdpexc.exe” /tsmoptfile=dsmarch.opt

thnx capatinx, is it a clustered server? The /excserver is required when it is a microsoft clustered server.

I have not yet found a resolution for this. Are there any TSM users who can help me?
