 Exchange 2007 TSM backups
We are testing backups and restores using Tivoli Storage Manager Exchange TDP. So far I am happy with the results but I am testing it on a newly created Exchange 2007 CCR server with only 3 mail boxes in one mail store. Does anyone have experience with TSM and Exchange 2007 and can tell me how it is going for you? Like is performance affected at all during backups or restores? It's easy enough to do the backups and restores at least.

Answer Wiki:
Have been using TSM for Exchange backups for many months now and learned to set these up as incrementals, not fulls. Backups complete quickly for 21 mail stores each on three mail servers and restores are easy and quick as well. Very pleased with the results.

So am I the only one using TSM for Exchange? We are still in testing stage for the test server backups. All is going well so far. I have the scheduler installed and working although it was a trial to find all the right things to put in the dsm.opt file and the exfull.cmd. The instructions for the install did not include the information about how to set it up with a ccr cluster which is different. I had to dig and find that somewhere else entirely. Finding the right documentation which covers all the variables has really been a challenge I must say!
