Q:
Exchange 2007 install
I'm looking for a HCL for Exchange 2007. We are planning to install Exchange 2007 on a IBM I5/OS, Version 6 Release 1 Mod 0, H Bladecenter. I cannot seem to find an HCL for Exchange 2007, only Server 08. Also we have in place 2 Exchange 03 servers now in the netowrk on same subnet one is on the I5 H Bladecenter now, the other is on stand alone hadware. Both Exhcange 03 versions are 6.5 Build 7638.2 SP2, running on a 2003 server SP2 (on I5), and a 2000 server SP2. Any consideration will be appreciated.

I would go with the HCL for the OS, because anything compatible with the OS you plan to install exchange 2007 on will be compatible with Exchange. Obviously it will need to be a 64 bit server and 64 bit version of the OS, that much is required for Exchange 2007. The rest is fine if you have compatible hardware for your OS.

TKS I kinda thought that was the case, if hardware good enough for 08 then good enough for exchange, and 64 bits a definite with hardware. Thanks

My hardware BladeCenter HS21 Intel Xeon 5160 @ 3 GHZ is not on the HCL, I assume it wont be supported. I see a HS21 Intel Xeon 5260 listed, I’m looking up the differences now.
